Navigate the future

In addition to being an agile plan for the future, strategy is above all a process. To be able to set the course towards future goals in motion, you need a shared vision of those goals and the course. The strategy process involves questions such as: why are we setting course (what is our mission), what destination do we want to reach in the future (what is our vision), what weather conditions can we encounter along the way (what are the scenarios) and how do we want to get there (what is our roadmap)?

These questions can be answered perfectly in a joint process. Leadership, expertise, experience, but also a fresh perspective and contrasting opinions are all needed to come to the right answers. In the De Ruijter ‘Navigate the Future’ model, we do this in the form of 6 strategic steps: mission, trends, scenarios, vision, options and roadmap. Sometimes an organization already knows very well what its mission is, but there is a need to formulate a place of destination: “where do we want to be in x years?”; That is the vision of the organization. How to get there is the roadmap, what you need along the way to get there are the options and the ‘weather conditions’ along the way are the scenarios. We are happy to support you in all these steps, from training and process design, advising and facilitating, to guiding and implementation.

In addition, it is important to ensure that the thought process is translated into action and that from that moment on, continuous attention is paid to monitoring both internal progress and external developments.
